Friday the 13th @ Foufounes Électriques

Posted 7/15/2018

Contrary to popular beliefs, Friday the 13th was a good day for Killing Unit. We had the privilege to share the stage with three great bands, Sans amertume, Helpless and the canadian metal vets, Anvil.

The guys were a little nervous, but the evening went great. People took their time to move to the second floor at Foufs, but the place slowly filled up and Helpless opened the show with a good set of old school thrash, and the crowd appreciated.

Killing Unit then went on stage, and our set went very well. The crowd was amazing, chanting the choruses with us, and we had our very first moshpit!! The guys from anvil showed up on the mezzanine during our set, and they seemed to enjoy the show.

Once we were done, we got our gear off stage in a nick of time (thanks to our helpers Mat and Cathy), and we went upstairs for a few beers. Sans amertume were next for an intense set, with their new singer who delivered the goods perfectly.

Anvil finally got on stage with a set of classics and new stuff. The band was generous, and even gave us a personnal version of Born to be wild.

The evening ended with an avalanche of beers and shooters, and it is with a sentiment of a job well done that Killing Unit went back to studio no 8.

Thanks to everyone who showed up, to the guys from Helpless, Sans Amertume and Anvil, Pascal Begin, to Mat and Xtrem productions,
and to District 7. See you soon, in the meanwhile, Killing Unit will continue to work on the next album.
